What you might want to know about Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a cultural and commercial celebration of love and affection that takes place annually on February 14th. While its historical origins are somewhat unclear, the day is named after St. Valentine, a Christian martyr who lived during the Roman Empire.

There are various legends associated with St. Valentine, but one common narrative is that he performed weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and ministered to Christians persecuted under the Roman Empire.

Over time, Valentine’s Day has evolved into a day dedicated to expressing love and affection. Today, it is often associated with romantic love, and people use the occasion to celebrate their relationships. Traditional customs include the exchange of love notes and gifts, often in the form of “valentines,” in the shape of hearts. It’s easy to be inspired, so here are a few suggestions:
